Alright, for real. What's with this site?

I deliberated long and hard (heh) about making this site. Really there is no point. You can get far more information from the major gaming sites and wikis. This site is merely for enjoyment, an art piece in way, to give a small peek into the not-so distant past of the origins of fansites.


Wouldn't I be better off going to the Final Fantasy Wiki for information?

If you want the latest news and information on Final Fantasy 7, yes, please go the Wiki. It's a great resource for not just FF7, but all Final Fantasies!


Are you one of those weirdo, mega fans?

I mean.. What gave it away? I've been a fan since I got to play a demo of it at Toys Я Us in 1997. Got my first action figure (Vincent Valentine!) just after the game release. Practically forced my parents to buy us a Playstation that Christmas because FF7 was the only thing I asked for. (Genius, I know.) So yea, I think you could call me a mega fan. I got the merch and the tattoos to prove it. ;)


Well I guess I'm here for a while. What should I check out first?

I highly suggest the fan galleries as they contain a lot of resources that are no longer available anywhere else. You could go scour the Wayback Machine, but really, I already put in all the work for you. Also, Articles contains a fans view retelling of the hype leading up to the game's release and beyond with numerous scans from gaming magazines from those years. (Thank you very much, Archive.org)


Are you going to narrate the entire site like that garbage intro?

N-no. Well, maybe. But that was merely for humor sake. A lot (nearly all) of the fansites back in the day had commentaries from the characters. During my Wayback dig, I found it commonplace for Cid or Barret to bust into a full blown conversation with the web host.


Can I go now? This is getting kind of boring.
