This is a section I debated on adding, but with all the past and recent writings giving us fans more back stories, I caved and decided why not? I only have a handful of items here, and to be honest, most are fan translations and not the real deal. I will however provide links to the best of my abilities for you to be able to purchase these novels as well as a little bit of information about each one.

On The Way to a Smile - 2009
By Kazeshige Nojima
A collection of stories taking place in the period after Meteor Fall and leading up the events of Advent Children. These tales show the struggles of a few of the characters in the wake of the Meteor Crisis and their dealing with the new threat of Geostigma. Before the physical book was released, XComp was ever so generous to translate these stories. While I highly recommend picking up the book for yourself, I have added XComp's translations here.

Hoshi o Meguru Otome
The Maiden Who Travels the Planet - 2005
By Benny Matsuyama
Located in the back of the Final Fantasy VII Ultima Omega book and once again, translated by XComp, this tale follows what happened to Aerith when she passed and entered the Lifestream. The story was translated and posted on lifestream.net with the hopes of getting an official English release someday.
Unfortunately, all that is currenty available is the original Japanese and a Spanish translation. The story expands on the purpose of the Lifestream and is told from Aerith's point of view. She traverses the Lifestream and encounters those who have died including Dyne, Zack and Hojo. Once again, here is a translated version for you to enjoy.

The Kids Are Alright : A Turks Side Story - 2011
By Kazeshige Nojima
Taking place just before Advent Children, this novel introduces Evan Townsend, a private investigator living in Edge. Having to rebuild his life after is mother leaves and Meteor Fall, Evan takes odd jobs with his partners Kyrie Canaan and Leslie Kyle for Kyrie's company, Mireille's Investigative Services. They attempt to locate people still missing after the disaster but end up falling in with the Turks and whole lot more than they bargained for.
As this was released as a translated novel not soon after its Japanese release, I don't have a translation for you to read. But you can purchase a copy for yourself from many places on the internet. I suggest the link below as that's where I picked my copy up from.

Picturing the Past - 2020
By Kazeshige Nojima
A short story about Aerith and Ifalna's time spent in the Shinra Building and specifially, Aerith's visions and drawings about locations where Shinra suspect The Promised Land might be located. The story is told from the point of view of a Shinra military trooper who is searching for a man named Geddie Bach in Mideel.
A whole cast of new characters is introduced and maybe like in The Kids Are Alright, these names may pop up again in future Final Fantasy VII games. The story is located in the back of the Final Fantasy VII Remake World Preview book. But I took the time to scan the pages and compiled a .rar file if you just wanted to read the story. I also included a highly detailed image of Aerith's drawing that came from Reddit.

Traces of Two Pasts - 2022
By Kazeshige Nojima
A duel novel featuring the pasts of Aerith and Tifa. Each part will delve into details about the pasts of two of the game's most beloved characters. Unfortunately, it's still in the process of being translated and has been pushed back to 2023. But lucky for you, someone has taken it upon themselves to translate while we wait for the physical copy. Thank you Peko, Eerie and Stanley!
