Sometimes things just work out, then others work out really well. What you see here is a result of that; "Do something we like AND make a career of it? Shpadoinkle!" Officially established in 2009, we took our love of web design from a hobby into a profession. While being based in Springfield, Illinois and focusing on local businesses and groups, we're not opposed to working with clients from out of town or even out of state. Being down-to-earth about our work, we believe 'putting it in layman's terms' is respectful so that you understand the project and do not feel like you are being talked down to.
Angela - Owner
Before tablets and widespread home computers, she was involved with the artestry of drawing. Over the years her medium has increased from the traditional arts up to and including the commonplace digital programs of today, specializing in color theory (i.e. knowing the visual impacts of specific color combinations). Being interested in computers since the late '90s, she took to creating her own website to showcase her drawings and creative writing, which she called 'Rusted Icon'. Since then it evolved as she learned more techniques, eventually incorporating it into the business name they use now. She currently is also working as a Web Consultant for the Looking For Lincoln Heritage Coalition in Springfield, Illinois.
Chris - Designer
There are two sides to every website, the pretty wrapping paper content that everyone sees and the intricate clockwork code beind it. While he can effectively do both sides, he specializes on the behind-the-scenes aspect and always tries to keep up with the newest standards in HTML and CSS. What started as an assignment in his high school computer class to create a webpage about a teacher, became a tireless hobby throughout the years and the base of a career. Creating various personal websites since the mid '90s, he also worked with Ciretex Design Studios early 2000s. While not a physical artist like Angela, he enjoys digitally coloring sketches.
